Hello from Jim Brungardt (The Fish Guy). The fishing season here at 3 Creek Ranch started on June 1st and I am very pleased with the early season fishing. I expect the quality of the fishing to continue to improve for some time to come. In the past week I have seen the first Pale Morning Duns of the season and these beautiful pale olive mayflies will continue to hatch on a daily basis through most of July. Sometime in mid July the Sulphurs-smaller baetis mayflies-will show up for about a month and hatch in the mid afternoon. The fishing during these early season hatches can be truly magical.
For 3 Creek Ranch Homeowners, July is a great time to check out other local fishing opportunities. The South Fork and Snake are already in good shape and I expect both to fish well right through the month of July. When you are ready to check out some other local fishing, please give me a call or send me an email and I will help arrange a day or two of guided fishing for you and your guests.
The stream rehabilitation work continued this past winter on Lower Cody Creek. I am very excited with the results and look forward to showing you these improvements the next time we are on the water. I also look forward to having you meet John Merritt. John will be working with Roger and me here in the Nature Center. We are very excited to have him around this summer. Don't wait…give me a call and let's go fishing! See you soon.
